FAQs - Renting from Wet Dog Boats

  • Operation of a private vessel of 15 or more horsepower requires completion of an approved Boater Safety Education Course.

    You can find a free course here.

    In some cases, a Motor Vessel Rental Safety Checklist may suffice for renters who have yet to complete an approved course.

    We also offer a reliable and easy to operate 8 horsepower vessel for new boaters - or anyone just wanting a leisurely and low cost harbor or lake outing!

    Additional Information:

    • The rental cost includes all essential safety equipment.
    • Three gallons fuel are included with smaller rentals free of charge. Six gallons are supplied with larger vessels. Additional fuel is available for your rental subject to local fuel rates
    • A damage and/or security deposit, along with a valid driver's license, are mandatory.
    • Responsibility for any damage to rental boats and equipment, including propellers, and other gear or property falls on the customer.
    • You must be 18 years or older to rent a boat with a motor.

  • Absolutely!  We'll recommend a boat that's great for learning and your experience level. You can also contact us to book a kind and patient instructor to help you become a safe and capable operator.

  • If you have a suitable tow vehicle and trailering experience, you may qualify for our discounted rate. Contact us for more information. 

  • Full-day and multi-day discounts are applied as you build your reservation online. We also periodically offer weekday discounts and seasonal promotions. Contact us for more! 

  • Yes! And we offer limited fishing and shellfish harvesting equipment for rent

  • Yes! We can connect you with our networked USCG and State licensed captain to guide your trip!

  • Pinnipeds and Cetaceans are commonly seen in and around Port Angeles Harbor. 

    However, keep in mind that boaters are required to stay at least 1,000 yards away from Southern Resident Killer Whales in Washington Waters. Visit https://wdfw.wa.gov/species-habitats/at-risk/species-recovery/orca/regulations for regulations.
